About us

Unity in diversity, fostering community development

Founded in 1948

The history of the organization dates back to the 1920s when black African Muslim’s setup a mud and Wattle mosque at the site of present day British African tobacco[BAT] Factory. At that time, Islamic religious knowledge was not wide spread in the country.

But many people had embraced Islam out of the little knowledge they got from the Arab traders who ventured deeper in to East Africa from the coast.

Diverse & Impactful Projects

Our incredible team has done an amazing job.

We  take on the task of reviving and managing the Muslim Trust by obtaining relevant records and adhering to the 1948 constitution. They aim to preserve the legacy of the founding fathers by recruiting new members, electing trustees, and following established procedures. Additionally, the organization is actively involved in developing various infrastructure and facilities to cater to the needs of the Muslim community. This includes constructing a modern multi-story mosque, a kindergarten madrasa, a vocational skills development incubation center, a secondary school with comprehensive facilities, a health facility, a shopping mall, and an auditorium. These developments not only accommodate the growing Muslim population but also generate income to fulfill the trust's obligations.

Who are we?

Our Journey Through Time

The founding fathers of the Association tailored it on the foundation and path of Islamic Propagation (Da ‘awa), building mosques and inducting new Muslim converts, making outreach programs to the under privileged in society by helping orphans, widows, the elderly and those in need.

Provision of education and healthcare was a top priority. They built a secondary school at the association headquarters.

The founding fathers also focused on provision of protected water springs and hygiene programs, encouragement of planting trees especially fruit trees for environmental and feeding purposes, as well as reaching out to affected communities by different forms of nature.
